This fundraiser is being organized independently by friends, family, and former colleagues in memory of Erik Modisett and for the benefit of his daughter. The organizers are not a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and do not have a charitable tax identification number. Accordingly, we are unable to provide a charitable tax-deductible receipt or represent that any sponsorship, donation, or other payment made in connection with the event is tax-deductible.

We are happy to provide sponsors and donors with an email acknowledgment confirming the amount and nature of their sponsorship or contribution for their records. If your organization requires specific documentation for its accounting or tax purposes, please let us know and we will do our best to provide appropriate confirmation of the payment.

What if I contribute to the 529 account?
If you choose to make a contribution directly to Olivia's 529 college savings account through Ugift, Ugift will provide its own acknowledgment of the contribution in accordance with its process. Contributions to the 529 account are separate from sponsorships and donations made in connection with the golf fundraiser.

Generally, the IRS treats contributions to a 529 as gifts (see, e.g., https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/529-plans-questions-and-answers) and there are annual and total contribution limits. The gift giver is responsible for understanding and complying with federal and state laws associated with 529s.
